It combines excellent thermoregulation, protection from weather conditions and maximum range of motion. The unique Polartec® Alpha® direct active insulation, protected by a lightweight and stretchy 2.5 layer membrane, is positioned on the front body, shoulders, sleeves and partly on the back. As one of the best synthetic insulations on the market, Alpha® Direct optimizes warmth, resists moisture, has excellent vapor permeability and works even when wet. Alpha® Direct does not need any lining, making significantly eliminates weight.             Very meticulously crafted and well sewn. Warm and breathable at the same time. The pockets are well thought out and fit the purpose, they can hold climbing passports and other small items, accessories and documents.

                              Today's blizzard had only one layer of thin merino shirt underneath it didn't blow me away. I just don't know why there is a hood that doesn't stay on my head in strong winds, I had to put it under my hat. They should fix this flaw. I'm going to put my hat elastic on. Also, my husband's VHAN vest has this same problem
