The shoulders and exposed back are protected by a windproof and waterproof 2.5-layer membrane (10,000mm / 10,000 g/ m2/ 24h).The front panel, upper back and forearms are covered with an ultra-light, tightly woven fabric with a ripstop structure, Pertex® Quantum. This protects against wind and moisture and guarantees high vapour permeability.Both the 2.5-layer membrane and Pertex® Quantum overlay the high-performance Polartec® Alpha® direct insulation. As one of the best synthetic insulations on the market, Alpha® direct optimizes warmth, resists moisture and works even when wet. You'll find it on the chest, sleeves and upper back. Alpha® Direct needs no lining, eliminating weight significantly. Unique stretch and breathability comes with the amazingly stretchy Blizzard® Thermal comfort fabric, located on the back and forearms. The extremely breathable Blizzard material has a special weaving density where it can maintain the internal temperature even when the fabric is stretched. The risk of hypothermia is therefore lower than with conventional stretch fabrics. The underarm panels are made of a fabric inspired by GRID technology, which is designed to quickly wick sweat away from the body. We've also used the same material for the anatomical hood with elasticated hem, which acts as natural ventilation under the helmet. The jacket is functionally complemented by two large pockets with two-way YKK® zippers, also accessible when the hip belt of the pack is fastened and also compatible with the saddlebag. They reliably store belts, goggles or gloves. We've added extra compartments inside the pockets for your smartphone or sunglasses to help you find what you need faster. The anatomical integrated GRID hood will take the place of a hat and fit comfortably under your helmet. The collar will keep your neck warm, and thanks to its cut, it won't fall down even when the hood is down. Another innovation is the silicone tape at the back of the hem, which keeps the jacket where it should be and prevents it from slipping out.
